There is a restaurant in the heart of Chelsea called Elmo and they have the best macaroni and cheese I have ever had.

Oh, hi! I know, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I wish I could say it’s because I’ve been traveling, or been really busy at work, or that I found a new thrill in jogging. But, it’s mostly because I’ve been lazy. I’ve still been going out to eat about 2-7 times a week and have been actively posting my meals on Instagram (FOLLOW ME HERE) but I just haven’t been in the mood to flesh out a blog entry about a place I’ve eaten. But my recent lethargy to write has been changed once I tasted the deliciousness that is Elmo.

As I mentioned in the first sentence, the mac and cheese was incredible! It was so rich and creamy and the top was nice and crispy – the perfect balance to any mac and cheese. I swear they made this with Velveeta, and in all honesty, I would be fine with that.

And if I didn’t already have indigestion and stomach cramps, I ended my meal with one more glass of wine and the baked apple pie a la mode.

If you have lived in NYC for longer than 6 months, then I am sure you have gone (or at least passed by) Elmo in Chelsea. It’s a great spot to grab a drink after work, have dinner with friends, or a go on a Grindr first date. The contemporary décor and exciting drink menu should not be surpassed by their creative menu full of all-American comfort food.

Last week on a rainy Thursday night, I met a few friends at Elmo to catch up, have a few cocktails, and gorge on food. We skipped the appetizers and salads and went straight for the main dishes. I had a big lunch, so I wanted to eat “light,” so I ordered the fried chicken club and a side of their macaroni and cheese while my friends stayed true to their diets and had the grilled salmon and the chicken tacos.

So, if you are ever in the Chelsea area, or are looking to meet someone from Bumble, go to Elmo for a fantastic dinner experience!
